Ciel Hospital, a fertility-specialized medical institution, and Kai Health, an AI company in infertility care, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on a fertility platform business.

Through this partnership, the two organizations will jointly pursue development of an infertility AI solution, fertility (reproductive) health enhancement services, and comprehensive infertility-related healthcare services. They also plan to cooperate on clinical validation (real-world clinical demonstration) of an AI model for embryo selection.

Bum-chae Choi, CEO (Medical Director) of Ciel Hospital, said, “We are pleased to introduce cutting-edge infertility AI at Ciel Hospital,” adding, “Since Ciel Hospital also has branches in Mongolia and Russia, we would like to carry out global research and clinical validation together and contribute to addressing the growing infertility problem.”

Hyejun Lee, CEO of Kai Health, said, “We are in a situation where there are more couples experiencing infertility than couples having children,” and added, “Through this agreement, we want to improve infertility treatment success rates and contribute to solving the low birth rate challenge.”

Meanwhile, Ciel Hospital is a fertility-specialized hospital located in Gwangju and operates overseas branches in Mongolia and Russia. It previously received a Presidential Commendation in recognition of its contributions to overseas medical expansion. The hospital has also co-developed a fertility-specialized chart system that is currently used by more than 10 hospitals in Korea, demonstrating expertise in IT as well.
