Kai Health Signs MOU with Dongtan Dion Women’s Clinic to Collaborate on an AI-Based Fertility Platform

BioTimes reported that Dongtan Dion Women’s Clinic, a fertility-specialized medical institution, and Kai Health, an infertility AI company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on a fertility platform business.
Through this agreement, the two organizations will jointly pursue development of an infertility AI solution, fertility (reproductive) health enhancement services, and comprehensive infertility-related healthcare services. They also plan to work together on clinical validation (real-world clinical demonstration) of an AI model for embryo selection.
Gi-hoon Jang, Medical Director of Dion Women’s Clinic, said, “We are pleased to be the first to introduce innovative technology for infertility couples’ treatment,” adding, “I hope this will be of real help in an era of low birth rates and pregnancies at older maternal ages.”
Co-Director Kyung-ui Park added, “We hope this partnership will help improve pregnancy success rates by selecting good-quality embryos and support patients in giving birth to healthy babies.”
Hyejun Lee, CEO of Kai Health, said, “Helping people who want children to have children is one of the most effective ways to address low birth rates,” adding, “Through this agreement, we want to improve infertility treatment success rates and contribute to solving the low birth rate challenge.”
Kai Health is a company developing AI solutions to improve the success rate of infertility treatments. Based on data from 10 hospitals in Korea, it has developed an AI algorithm that helps select embryos with higher chances of pregnancy, and plans to pursue medical device certification through clinical validation.
